USA Sevens 2008 Tournament Information

Proposed Dates:  February 9th and 10th are the dates that have been identified by the International Rugby Board (IRB). The IRB oversees the delivery of the tournament as part of the “IRB Sevens World Series”. Dates will be confirmed upon completion of the 2007 series, which ends on June 3rd at Murrayfield, Edinburgh, Scotland.

Location:  2008 USA Sevens will be at Petco Park, San Diego. (Same venue as 2007)

Teams: Determined by the IRB at the end of this years “IRB Sevens World Series”. 16 national teams from every continent, and all major rugby nations, will compete.

2008 Projected Attendance: Anticipated that this year’s attendance will be in excess of 50,000 over two-tournament days. This does not include the various groups that travel to San Diego for other events associated with the “2008 USA Sevens”.
